How about a long term project with the kids involved that you'll all have something to show for it when it's completed.

But you're probably referring to after the kids are in bed, when it gets too quiet, and you don't have to be accountable to anyone.

Hmm, I dunno. Maybe start a thread of projects/hobbies we can set for ourselves. You know, stuff not related to work or family or learning, but that make sense for a ben Torah like you, and can give some form of sippuk.

You just may end up getting some sippuk from the the amount of views and comments it gets! :-)

The Torah is teaching us that if we have too big an ego we may get caught in the Yetzer Hora's web, tangled by our ego!


A sense of self-worth is not all bad, though. A healthy self esteem can assist us in bettering our ways. The horns of all species are referred to as 'keren', they symbolize honor/pride/ego, but they are also called 'shofar' - shapru maaseichem [beautify your deeds], it can be used to help us become better, bring us closer to Hashem. BUT if someone were to only use it for self promotion, be an egoistic self-centered big-shot, then his 'horns' are possul.

i don't always like talking about myself, but maybe it's good for me.

i am convinced that for myself, the only way to get rid of all the attacks i get, is a major change with my habits, (even if it's one step at a time, it's gotta get monmentum to break through). clean doesn't just means no dirty viewing, it has to become part of me. i wanna break a bit of the contradiction of my actions and my thoughts.

I know for me it has been very helpful being connected to other people on a regular basis. I have a few people that I am in touch with on a constant basis through emailing and escpecially on google chat. My friends help me work through my thoughts in real time. That may be a good mehalech for you.
