For all those with the ssa issues I will strongly consider telling your rabbis or parents. I had been working with Jonah for about 7 months and obviously I appreciate wht they have done, but I think they might get you bottled into their system of therapy and you won't be able to get out! I thank g-d told my parents about the issue I had which was very relieving and thank g-d pulled myself out of what I thought to be helpful but was really stressful. A word of caution many can be very vulnerable with this issue, don't make the issues bigger than they are because that is also not healthy. Be careful who you turn to and if you would like any personal advice about Jonah/Jim or ssa let me know.
Good luck on your path but please be careful, sometimes their are other intentions besides helping people.

There are many homosexuals who have been made straight by therapy. The question is if every frum homosexual is obligated to use therapy until he is able to get married and have a family.
GYE has a letter from Rabbi Ahron Feldman which says no. www.guardyoureyes.org/forum/index.php?topic=1594.0 />The Rabbinical Council of America will not say yes. www.rabbis.org/news/article.cfm?id=105665 />

There is, however an organisation called The Torah Declaration
torahdec.org/Default.aspx which has over 200 rabbonim and mental health professionals who say yes. Every frum homosexual has to undergo therapy for years on end until he becomes straight.

I sent the following email to one of the mental health professionals who signed: I see you signed The Torah Declaration on homosexuality torahdec.org/Default.aspx
Do you believe that "the only viable course of action that is consistent with the Torah is therapy and teshuvah ... there is no other practical, Torah-sanctioned solution for this issue." and that a homosexual may not live as a Torah-observant celibate or are you just saying that the Torah does not allow homosexual relations even if someone feels that is the only way he can achieve happiness and fulfillment?
She answered :
I BEGGED them to take me off this stupid declaration. They refuse. I didn’t know what I was signing back then.

I spoke to one of the psychiatrists who signed the Declaration and he told me that most homosexuals can be healed but not all. He signed because so many rabbonim signed and because he does not believe that a homosexual tendency is a license to act out.
That is not what the Torah Declaration says, so what is going on here?

I think it is like Coca Cola going to President Obama and other famous people and asking them if children should drink beer or Coke. They all sign that they should drink Coke and Coca Cola uses that as an attack on Pepsi. I think most of those who signed did not realize that they were saying therapy is obligatory, just that there is no excuse to act out.

The Blind Beggar is a character in Rebbe Nachman's story of the Seven Beggars.
If I view a woman as an object, I am powerless over lust, but I don't have to look.
I can guard my eyes.
I want to guard my eyes.
I do guard my eyes.
Why do I say these four lines?

The letter from Rav Feldman linked above is the wrong one. The one BB meant is This one.
