(mr.e, please excuse my trespassing on your thread but this is something which weighs heavily on my heart and maybe with your ample abilities you can provide counsel and succor to my travails)
i confess that i do not enjoy beer at all. the taste is totally not to my liking. only type i enjoy is malt. am I weird?

When you start with the "Had he done it like this..., it wouldn't have turned out so bad" you are going down the wrong path. We can't blame our surroundings for our problems. Bottom line is, he had an alcohol problem and a lust problem and didn't turn to outside help.
