All erev Shabbos I planned to stop over here and post something,
but there is something strange about erev Shabbos;
the clock always moves faster than every other day
and a minute is made up of 20 seconds instead of 60 Undecided

Anyway, better late than never:

I was thinking about the medrash connected to this weeks parsha; Yisro.
A)
Before Hashem gave the Torah to Am Yisrael, He first offered it to all the goyim of the world.
Each was given a chance to be the 'Chosen nation', yet one by one they rejected it, claiming it would be too hard to keep based on each ones individual weak points. One couldnt / wouldnt fight the yh of theft, the next murder etc etc.

Moshe Rabbeinu was the greatest Navi the Yidden ever had. With him leading us, Am Yisrael attained unbelievable heights in ruchnius.
But Hashem knew what the future would hold. When Mashiach comes and everything is clear to the whole world, the goyim would  come to HKBH with complaints that "If we too had such a Navi as Moshe, we also could have reached those levels in holiness. If only we had a leader like Moshe..."
But the goyim were also given a Navi. Bilaam was on the same level as Moshe Rabbeinu with the same kochos! Sorry goyim; your excuse holds no water. I gave you an equal chance, you simply blew it!

C)
In order for a person to really understand the worth of something, introduce them to the opposite concept, so they can personally appreciate the difference. Want to sell a perfect diamond? First show the buyer the difference between glass, inferior diamonds, and then finally your perfect stone. Want to introduce someone to the intricacies of fine wine? Start with $1 winos' special and end with a vintage Bordeaux.

I think the same idea is very connected to our dor, iyH the final one befor the geulah, and the hardest accordingly:

The holiest period in history is about to be revealed to the whole oilam.
In order for us and the whole world to fully appreciate it when it is finally revealed, we must first examine its diametric opposite;
Absolute kedusha vs absolute tuma.
We are currently steeped in the tuma, and if anyone knows just how repulsive it is, it's those of us in GYE.
AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HASHEM WANTS
Imagine this:
Mashiach comes tomorrow. The goyim approach HKBH with their taanos. "Hashem; The world is buried in absolute filth and tuma. How were we, mere humans supposed to have fought it? You created us with a natural desire for sexual pleasure. The pull was so strong, that no-one could have resisted the urges, and no one was even trying."

AND IN WALKS GYE.

Yes, it's hard, very very hard.
But we are not simply giving in, shrugging our shoulders in despair and surrendering. Sure we may fall, but 'making it' every time is not what Hashem needs from us. He needs us; normal, average human beings to say "This tuma stinks, and just because the world says its okay, is no reason for me to agree. Im fighting the fight."

And just maybe for this very reason we were created.

WE ARE HASHEMS FINAL DEFENSE AGAINST THE GOYIM AND THE FINAL HARBINGERS FOR MASHIACH

"Close" but no cigar
By:bardichev

In honor of the Yom Tov Pesach I will present a wonderful story with a powerful lesson.

Cherish this story
Say it over by the Seder
It is guaranteed to become a family tradition

Close your eyes and travel with me back to my Zaides Shul in the city of Bardichev

The seder table is set regally. The Matzos the wine, the Kaara.
The participants are anxiously awaiting the Heiligeh Bardichever to recite KAAdaish!

Reb Levy  Yitchok is not ready.

He turns to his gabai
And sayd "get me a loaf of. Kosher bread"

Kosher Bread??!! Rebbe its paysach!!

Get me the bread at once!

Search the town from top to bottom

The gabbai leaves bewildered

An hour later ,he returns, empty handed

Rebbe I searche all over no one has bread
Not Chanalle the widow or even Itsik the simple blacksmith

Ok says the Rebbe
Get me a cigar!

A cigar says the gabbai
It is contraband anyone posesing a cigar can be jailed at once

Get me a cigar!

Minutes later the gabbai returns with a fine selection of cigars

AHhhhhhhhh!!!

Tatte in Himmel says the Heiligeh Rebbe

You said in your Torah Seven days NO chamets

You have no police force
No inspectors snnoping around
And no one but no one has chamets

Yet the government has real strict rules over tobacco punishable by life in rhe Siberian jails

And look all I needed to do is ask and I have a cigar
Ayyy the police the inspectors..

TATTEH where do you have such a nation!!!

Now we can start the Seder. KAADAYSH!!

A kushiren fraylichen YOM TOV!!

And the heiligeh Bardichevers grandson wants to grab onto his Zaydes theme

TATTEH LOOK AT YOUR CHOSEN NATION. Yes the goyim and the YH throw shmuts and worse on us

And all we want IS YOU!!

KoL dodi dofek pischu lee

Kol dodi dofek pischu lee

PISCHU LEE!!!!

Gevaldiggggggg!!!

Gevalgik Bardichev!

Yesterday, while doing bedikas chometz, a piece of cracker got lost - one of the 10 we had hidden.
We turned the house upside down looking for it.
The child who had been holding it thought maybe she had accidentally thrown it away.
As my husband and I took turns searching through the full garbage can top to bottom
this story from the your Zeide came to mind!
"Tatty; only for You and Your mitzvos am I sticking my nose deep into this disgusting garbage,
so that not even one miniscule crumb of chametz should be found within my house!"

PISCHU LEE!

The posuk in this week's parsha says ולרבקה אח ושמו לבן the Ohr Hachaim asks that the Medrash says that for tzadikim the Torah says ושמו before the name like ושמו בועז  like it says ושמו השם for Hashem. With reshayim it is the other way round like גלית שמו. Why does the posuk refer to Lovon like a tzadik, like Boaz, and not like the rosho that he was, like Golias?
The Ohr Hachaim answers that Lovon saw a strange man talking with his sister, which is a breach of tznius, so he ran over to invesigate. Since he was doing an act of tzidkus he is refered to in the posuk like a tzadik.
Whatever you are all day long you are a big tzadik or tzidkonis whenever you are on the Forum.
Good shabbos to all the tzadikim and tzidkonios of GYE.
The Blind Beggar is a character in Rebbe Nachman's story of the Seven Beggars.
If I view a woman as an object, I am powerless over lust, but I don't have to look.
I can guard my eyes.
I want to guard my eyes.
I do guard my eyes.
Why do I say these four lines?

OK WE ALL KNOW THE STORY bards!

Beautiful - I think reb Yeruchum says that vort...

Very often, even when things are tough, we can look and see hashem's kindness in small ways, and we know he's there by us.
