You don't leave us very much room for suggestions if there are no other phones around. How do you want to call in, with a "sandwich maker" (like I had in Yeshiva)?   :-\

MMMM that would be a tasty phone call. But someone might know how I can clal from the internet. Ive had tried something called evaphone but fro some reason the phone number of the group doesnt work.

I have a Verizon plan that has a "Friends and Family" feature, in which you can enter up to 10 numbers that won't count towards your minutes.  If you have a plan with Verizon, maybe your father can look into that.  You can explain that you like to listen to Shiurim over the phone.

The other choice is to find yourself a prepaid phone plan and pay for it yourself - is that an option?

i would do a prepaid phone thing i dont have a credit card though. Is that a problem?

Baruch Hashem I think Boruch helped me find a solution. Might cost me some significant money, but recovery is priceless. Dont think ill be able to make it to the call tommorrow though because i can only get the phone on Friday and I cant call in anymore on my regular phone (ive already used 180 of the 700 minutes in the plan and the cycle started 2 days ago!!!!! ???) have a great day all.

I just found out  a very interesting fact, today is the 40th anniversary of the first time internet was used. On Octoboer 29th 1969 a UCLA professor sent a message from his computer to a friend.I think it is no coincidence that I am fasting today. Yes today is behab, but also the day the ever so infamous internet was invented. I guess its kind of ironic thaat i bash the internet, yet the very thing that carried me to the depths of of the earth, will also bring me up. Just a quick thought I had.

Hey all,

Guten Erev Shabbos. Another day in the books, but not really counting how many that is. Maybe 5 or 6. Again Im going with the idea of not counting the days but making the days count. I joined Boruch's phone group last night and its very interesting because its completely different than Duvid Chaim's. Here's my dilemna. I can pay money and get a prepaid phone in order to continue to attend Duvid Chaim's group, but there wil probably be days when I cant attend. Or I can do Boruch's group only which I can do for free beecauase (its only at nights). What should I do? Keep in my mind I will not be able to make it to Duvid Chaim's every day and I would have to pay some money in order to buy a sperate phone for his group. Thanks all.

Boruch's group sounds like a reasonable option.  How many times a week is it?
