that reason was to find someone who could help me get a filter for Linux when everything else failed, before I damage myself irreversebly. ad kan.
Once i was here i realized this is exactly what I needed, and I started to explore.
mamash hashgachah.
i dont think i would've ever landed up here otherwise.
Btw, is there any1 here who can look at a specific persons profile and lmk know if it would be a good or bad idea/safe or unsafe to get in touch with him?
Hi Tzadik,
How techy are you with Linux?
Do you just use it in the GUI state or are fluent in CLI?
Which flavor of Linux?
If you just want a somewhat deterrent, you can use a DNS based filter like cleanbrowsing family filter, or more advanced if you pay for a opendns account.
Netfree is a VPN filter and would work on Linux as well, the only issue is that netfree has two parts to it, one is the actual filter which can work on any device capable of using a VPN, the other is their wifree software which blocks access to the Internet if not connected to their VPN. This second part doesn't work on Linux. There is a partial workaround posted on netfree's forum,

Or

You might be able to use iptables to achieve the same thing.
