I think it's nice that you want to help others (I relate to that very much), but you came here for a reason and you are your number 1 priority.

that reason was to find someone who could help me get a filter for Linux when everything else failed, before I damage myself irreversebly. ad kan.
Once i was here i realized this is exactly what I needed, and I started to explore.
mamash hashgachah.
i dont think i would've ever landed up here otherwise.
Btw, is there any1 here who can look at a specific persons profile and lmk know if it would be a good or bad idea/safe or unsafe to get in touch with him?

There is a partners program that does just that. Sign up for it. If they don't answer then perhaps they don't think it is good for you. We already gave you people who can be good mentors. There are no other options available. I am not sure how many times we have to go around the same circle for you to get it.

For SSA I think you should reach out to chancy or crabapple18. Their email address is in their signature, they are safe and many have reached out to them.

Based on your personality I think Eerie would be the best for you only that chancy and crabapple18 have first-hand experience with SSA. I suggest that you read through Eerie's thread and see whether it resonates with you.

For everyone's safety you should ask chaim@guardyoureyes.com who you can connect with through emails. In general you should be going to the four mentors that you were given and regarding anyone else you should reach out to Chaim to make sure it is safe.

Hi Tzadik,
How techy are you with Linux?
Do you just use it in the GUI state or are fluent in CLI?
Which flavor of Linux?
If you just want a somewhat deterrent, you can use a DNS based filter like cleanbrowsing family filter, or more advanced if you pay for a opendns account.
Netfree is a VPN filter and would work on Linux as well, the only issue is that netfree has two parts to it, one is the actual filter which can work on any device capable of using a VPN, the other is their wifree software which blocks access to the Internet if not connected to their VPN. This second part doesn't work on Linux. There is a partial workaround posted on netfree's forum, here
Or here
You might be able to use iptables to achieve the same thing.

I've played around with CLI a drop, but I'm basically an am ha'aretz with CLI.
I use Ubuntu Linux.
Yes, I need a filter that I wouldn't be able to bypass.
I would use Netfree if I don't have an other option, but they block GYE.
I just need it whitelisted to GYE, so a goyishe filter should be okay. The problem is that its not easy to install software on Linux. You have to know the system and how to deal with issues that come up during installation. That's the help I need.
P.s. If you are reading this and have an account with Netfree, please put your votes in the "]Vote to advance development of Suggestions in NetFree" page for making NetFree available on Linux. You'd be doing a big toivah for klal yisroel, as there currently isn't any kosher/Jewish filter available for Linux.

I'm not experienced with netfree, can't you ask them to whitelist it for you?
How about gye.nu which is a password protected version that should work with netfree:

I think that is your best option.

I don't know, but whatever filter I use, the main help I need is installing it, as on Linux there's no one-click-easy-installer. (Even when there officially is, it usually doesn't actually work like that, and I run into issues.) I don't think Netfree will help me, as they don't officially support Linux.

I right now have an unfiltered computer with Linux, which isn't easy to filter. If you have any experience with Linux or the bash terminal, PLEASE HELP ME!!

Is there a specific reason why you have an unfiltered device?
