lol - don't be so impressed.. I jsut know how I am... I am so out of touch with trends, and what is up to date.

I buy new ties - they go out of style
finally decided to buy a nice (and expensive) camera...that very year digital cameras come on the market.

if I buy a cellphone... who knows they might announce a new surgical procedure whereby one can have their phone implanted in their hand.

the good news is I am not alone...

when my wife went back to the states for a family simcha, her nephew announces wanna see my new ipod?

to which she states - Whats an ipod?
her uncle was SHOCKED (to say the least) ipod?? whats an ipod?? HE (her nephew) has 7 of them!

She is like me - and likes to stay with things she knows... (and the next part is true) she went to the store to buy a SONY WALKMAN...the kid at the counter did not even know what this was...had to ask a manager for help... my wife says he gave her such a look , like what planet did you just come from???

she persisted in her request... and after searching... the store actually found one (a dusty one at that) all the way in the back of the warehouse!

(she told me these stories when she came back.. I was rolling on the floor.. I can just imagine everyones reaction!!!! )

and yet - we waste our time searching the internet...looking for pleasure. When will we realize how wonderful our wives are - if we woudl only spend time talking to them and getting to know them.

my wife hates the computer - i get so focused and tune her out..

I can talk wiht her for hours - give her my full attention but later if she sees me on the computer all she can think of, is how much I am ignoring her.

Maybe THIS is supposed to be my built insafety device.

I told my wife recently I think what I need is to have an affair...

with the Shkinah (and as far I know She does not have any internet access )

i think you have it backwards -

seems to me we get RID from our computers...

intense pleasures trigger intense memories of pain.
other wise why else would we need our pain-killers.

Hi guys. I am still alive and thank G-d clean. I saw an eitza from Reb Yisroel Elya Weintruab ZTL for guarding your eyes. When you see something challenging remember that when you preform a mitzva it is an eis ratzon. So if I don't look I will daven for something I need and my tefilah will be answered more. I have tried it and it works.

Thanks for the regards.

I just want to expound on the the thought from Rav Yisroel Elya Weintraub. Right after we we do a mitzva it is an עת רצון for tefilla. For this reason we say a מי שברך after someone is called to the Torah. He has just finished the mitzva of reading the Torah so he can daven and Hashem will listen. This is also why we say "harachamans" after "benchin". we have just fullfilled the mitzva and we can now daven to Hashem.
If we see a woman who excites us we should remember that if we don't look then we will have preformed a mitzva and it will be an ais ratzon to do daven. If we don't look then we should ask Hashem for something we need.

I am aslo very non-electronic....no cell phone,no blackberry,no i pod, no home computer,no radio,no t.v.
However,i do have a computer at work and have internet access with blocks.
I have been using the computer more and more like for searching directions, paying bills, making bus reservation, ect.
part of my job duties involves searching for resources on-line,so it is hard to avoid going on-line. BTW ,when i did not have internet access,i was able nebech to act out plenty on the telephone with free s* line calls. So I guess it is not the computer which is the enemy ,it's my addiction to pleasure/escape.

True, however the p*** was not as easy to access. So if we are doing well (like Yedidya A. 56 days) it would be an easier fight.
