We launched the KBA System (K'nas Based Accountability) about 10 days ago. See www.gye.org.il/kba

We offered it free for GYE members, and we were sure we'd have a big demand very quickly.

Unfortunately, in spite of the fact that we mentioned it in a few chizuk e-mails (to 3,500 people), and in spite of the fact it was spoken about at a kennes in Jerusalem before 500 people (and in the filter guide given out to 1,200 people) so far only 4 people have signed up!!

I am looking for feedback about why people are so reluctant to join. After all, we all want accountability, it's the first free system of it's kind, it's mistake proof, the billing info is stored securely and no one is charged unless we're sure there was a bad report. So why is no one joining??

Can you please share your sentiments with me below?

Honestly Guard, because I believe that only I can truly 'filter' my internet usage.

I thought of joining but I think there has to be a way that I can argue if you took a kna'as and I believe that I did no wrong!
Secondly I am not the only one who uses this computer so how can I do to make sure they don't YiddleIt (google) something that you consider wrong and get charged for it?

Let it be clear: We do not charge unless the report contains real pornography, and even then, the non-Jew who reviews the reports for Yishmoreini has been doing this for years and he is trained to detect when something is just a "mistake" or a small "slip", or if it's a real problem.... The kehilla based one has more appeal I think. The knas based one may have appeal to those interested in the taphsic method. Many of us are not interested in a knas based system.

Kidding aside, (and I model my taphsic the same way), I can't put on a card that would be able to pay that at any time... being a bochur who literally never has money.
I would seriously consider joining if that matzav ever changes.
I know the idea is NOT to pay, but I can't even take on something like that. My conditioning over the years was never to take on commitments I'm not good for.

I think this system sounds great but putting in my credit card details to deduct $100 if I slip is too much for me I know that I am making an excuse but I also know that this is a long term commitment. at the moment I cannot make such a commitment because of the really high cost as well as the fact that I am working on taking it one step and day at a time.

I feel that this system will work for those that are able to and prepared to make such a commitment and are serious about it. Unfortunately my feelings are that if someone had to sign up and failed and paid and failed and paid, it would really only be a matter of time until they either said "Ok, I cant pay anymore so Im going to stop (ie the desired result is that they stop themselves) or remove myself from the system" in which case GYE will probably have caused more damage than good. This will even further reinforce the belief that "I just cant do this" If they do take it seriously then GREAT!!!!!!! but if they don't . OY VEY

I believe that if they take it seriously then they dont need someone else to take money away form them, they will do it themselves. THE PROBLEM IS.... how many people take this that seriously that they are prepared to pay? maybe the lack in take up speaks for itself

As for my two cent-iments: I think it's a great idea for many people who are looking for an additional tool. But many others (like myself) are currently focused on a certain 'mehalech' and do do not want to get side-tracked with new approaches.
