Letting Go and Letting G-d

Imagine: you're caught in a whirlpool, doggy-paddling with both hands to stay afloat, but you're right in the middle of the vortex and are about to go under. You know you are powerless against these strong natural forces, but you are relying on the power of your two arms to keep your head above water for as long as possible. Then you look up, and you see a hand of a marine on a ladder from a helicopter reaching down for you. But to grab it you need to use one of your hands, which will leave you with only one to keep afloat, and if your gamble is wrong you're gonna go down much faster. The only way you're gonna attempt to take his hand is if you can accept that he really will grab your hand and pull you up, that he is capable and willing to do so.

So too with Hashem. I need to trust that He will come through for me when I turn my will and life over to Him.
