last night when i was driving home i had my windows open and i came to a stop sign and stopeed (like one is supposed to do when there is a cop coming the opposite way jk) and i looked both ways and i saw a girls that i hadnt talked to in a lonng time. when i stopped talking to girls 3 years ago it was difficult to stop talking to her and she texted me once in a over the past year. so when i saw her, i had an immediate reaction that i honked to get her attention and said hi to her.
this all happened within 1 second . the next second i alredy knew that i would really regret it. we basically said hi and i said that my brother needed the car (as an excuse cus i knew that i shouldnt have done it and i really wanted to get out of there) so all that happened is we spoke for a minute.
but she texted me. and i really dont know what to do. i dont want to offend her (again, ...when i stopped talking to girls-the first and second time- i did it in a not polite way that offeneded many of them.... i shoulda did it in a different way but that is a different convo.) maybe hashem is giving me a 2nd chance to be polite about it? that this time ill politly say that i just wanted to say hi ( hey, that sounds familiar) .
what is everyone else's thoughts on this.
when she texted me i said i was going to bed so i baught some time to figure out how to react.
its all a teenage thing:)

You could just tell her the truth.

"Hello, I've actually been trying to be more careful lately about mingling with girls who I'm not married to.  I hope you can understand.  However, I forgot myself when I saw you the other day and couldn't help but give a honk and say hello.  I hope you understand, but I'd really prefer right now not to get more involved than that.  Glad that you're doing well, and I wish you all the best."

and it is not Hashem giving you a chance to be polite about it, rather that idea is a product of the International Lust Think Tank, which produces excuses and justifications using cheap labor in Third World countries in unsafe working conditions.

you will regret talking to her and it will make you unhappy if you start up a texting convo with her.

another idea, which is not as truthful but might be easier to implement is if she texts maybe ignore the first text. if she texts again, wait a day and then reply that your phone is acting erratic and not all texts go through. then keep pushing it off till she loses interest

you want to be a good clean person and not go down the slippery slope

Tell her you have Herpes and need a lift to your appointment.

Put your cell phone infront of your car's tires, and go for another drive.
It's called going over your minutes.
Don't drive the same route as last time.

this morning i was successful in tapping into a power greater than me (aka hashem) to help me with my lusting. IYh i will be able to continue doing that through TODAY (although tomorrow we are eating at a place where last time i had issues with shmiras eynayim, im not ready to worry about that until tomorrow.)

but last night she texted me "liyla tov" (i was already sleeping so i didnt respond, and i just deleted the text cus i dont have the number saved and i know that if i have the text, it would be to difficult to resist) she probably just wasted to say goodnight hoping i would text back and then she would start talking to me. but i didnt text back.
