the mishna in meseches middos say that in the kodesh hakedashim they had an "atic" that when it was necessary, they would lower worksmen in these box type things to do repair and not see the majestic kodesh hakedashim. i dont know about you, but to me when i think about the holiest place on earth, why should hashem allow any type of damage to happen. it should always be in 100% perfect condition! understand the problem?

so there really isnt any problem here. we have this idea that when there is kedusha, it meens that there is not even anypossible place to have a fall. kedusha meens im by myself all day. kedusha meens that there is no mistake, no room for the tinest amount of failure, no room for any physical thing
so the kodesh hakedashim comes and tells us, ME the holiest place on earth has physical limitations, room for not being perfect, so does that meen im not holy? NO IM JUST AS HOLY. the only thing is that when there is something to be fixed, then go fix it!
so we here, we are the holy of holies, ok, we have our things that we must pt work on. but we have to be like the kodesh hakedashim and learn that despite the things we must work on, we are still the holiest of the holies!

You say that you felt urges over shabbos. I'd consider that a test, and anytime we feel tested, we can learn from it - what brought it on, what motivated us, whether it would have been worth it (?!), what would have happened if we'd given in, what we did that worked, what we could do even better next time...
