the giraffe comes from Bardstown Zoo, of course

Bina sent a photographer there for the photos

and i'm sure the rebbe never takes a Bina out to read but sometimes when the rebbe goes to the Bardstown shuk and the rebbetzin calls into the rebbe's zilbener shtecken with built in Bluetooth speakers and asks the rebbe to be so kind and pick up a Bina to read. then the rebbe tells the gabbai (EL) to take him to the magazine section and the rebbe picks out a nice unwrinkled copy for the rebbetzin and then the rebbe peeks out of the corner of his eye at the giraffes

Bina isn't classy enough to send a photographer to Bardstown!

Besides, the bardichever rebbitzen is too intelligent and heilig to read Bina, I think she only reads 'Der Yiddene'...

what about Tzena Urena?
any self-respecting rebbetzin ought to have a rocking chair and a pile of mending near the fireplace with a well-worn Tzena Urena
(undercover Anglo-Saxon rebbetzins can take "The Midrash Says" and bind it in a cover of Tzena Urena just for appearance's sake)

thanks for stopping by Reb EBD, great to see you!

was being maavir sedra and a thought occured to me.

When the yidden made the Eigel and Hashem told Moshe 'lech raid ki shichais amcha etc.', Moshe davened for the yidden not to be destroyed, and Hashem told Moshe 'hanicha li etc.' implying that it is up to Moshe to daven for the yidden.

All this took place even as the yidden were in middle of dancing around the eigel.

I will leave it to others to expound on this but for me it shows that no matter how deeply fallen and depraved a person might fall Hashem and tzadikim (like Moshe) are still 'on the case', pulling strings and moving and shaking things to get you out of the hole.

another thought in a somewhat similar vein.

Moshe Rabeinu became rich from the leftover sapphire that he used to make the Luchos Shniyos. We too, who are often greatly in need of luchos shniyos, can actually get rich in the process, by rebuilding our lives and using all the trials and falls to spur us onward and upward.

reb AHM, you are officially granted use of the Possum Ranch VIP Lounge
but it operates on a BYOC (bring your own cheese) policy

lot of white knuckling today
lot of (innocent?) Jewish blood being spilled this morning
lot of tension
cleaning out buildup of garbage and residues from past indulgences
painful process but necessary
if i would be consistent and punctilious in daily exercises in removing excesses and living healthy i would not need such a drastic periodic cleansing

all this took place at the dentist's office this morning
