Dear OneDayAtATime (or is it 1-universal-da'as) (or...) (I've never really quite gotten that)  Anyhow, HI.

I'm really impressed that you and your children are sticking in there this time. My family's not exactly functional, either (siblings came THIS CLOSE to suing one another over some petty stuff, etc). Getting past it feels like hard work sometimes. I daven that when you put out just a little effort, the RBS'O will open the floodgates. Thanks for sharing that.

As far as hearings go, I'm just gonna share a little bit of my experience. Personal, so it certainly isn't guaranteed to apply to you. But for what it's worth... I've been involved in many, many lawsuits over the years. And one thing I've learned is that the judge NEVER seems to rule according to how _I_ think the case went. Our best efforts at a case, and we can get trashed. Our "can't believe I forgot this" arguments, and we win, hands down. I think it's a good moshul -- our view of the world from down "here" is simply not the same as His plans up "there."

In other words, I'm applauding your efforts to realize that it's not the _lawyer_ who's gonna decide your case, or even the _judge_. And that the _J_udge who's pulling the strings gave you some proteksia, so even if the result CH'V looks bad at first, you'll know there's good hiding in there.

The worst things I've ever gone through in my life have often turned out, later, in hindsight, to be the best things that ever happened to me.

I can't believe I never figured that one out.

I always though it was the desire to "know" the "1" above.

hi 1daat,

glad to hear about the good stuff between you and your children. i just heard from R' Noach Weinberg (on his CD called 'the five levels of pleasure' available for free at classicsinai.com) that a parents biggest pain is their children. and their biggest joy is their children. so true.

sorry to hear about the difficulties with the hearing. you talking to the Boss is the best route. as you well know and as you have demonstrated to us so many times in the past.

keep on trucking and check in here when you have time.
have a great shabbos

Doc Briut, Rebbe Zemster,  ha Rav, ha Gaon UAJ, Reb D'Tbear, and all youse guys what checked in while I was checked out.  Thanks a lot.  You guys just keep reminding me of the same simple stuff:  Hashem's lovingly in charge;  Have the rough times ever not proven themselves to be l'toyvah?;

I am still learning to walk.  Got very freaked out about the lawyer missing the one thing that's going to be a headache.  Then I just broke down while talking with HKBH.  I keep thinking it's like when I was a child--alone, humiliated, powerless to do anything, frightened.  Always frightened.  And then He comes, "Don't worry, it'll be ok, I'm carrying you.  Shah, Shah."  And I feel again, for the unpteenth time His love, and protection.  And then I forget again.

Ok, whatever You have in store for me, If You could please just keep me near Your voice telling me it's all going to be ok, that You love me.  If You could just let me not get so scared, and if I do get so scared, if You could please come again and reassure me, I'll try to face whatever You bring me.  You always bring me closer to You.  And I know, I keep forgetting, on a daily basis.  One day at a time I keep forgetting.  Thank You for bringing all these guys into my life who keep reminding me.  Thank You for reminding me.  I have a major memory problem.

ps.  ironically, speaking of memory problems.  Turns out there seems to be something physical going on with me about my memory.  Having a psychological evaluation done.

pps.  Briut.  Been using the lightbox every day. 'Cept Shabbos.  Hard to know, but I don't want to run any experiments.  My moods pretty stable, so I ain't messing with it.  Also, thanks for sharing your legal stuff with me.  Helps put the lawyer's mistake in perspective.  It's a business problem, not a personal one.

My daughter an I are doing really well.  REALLY well.  She asks me for advice, reminds me to watch myself for certain bipolar symptoms we both have.  We laugh, share pictures.  What do you want from miracles??!!  l'chol chai ratzon.

As to the 1daat questions.  well....  gotta go 8)

Well, I haven't been on in a while.  Everything's ok.  Seems I've reached day 95.  It's actually pretty much a ho hum.  I just keep working a day at a time.  No porn or masturbation (oy, forgot the asterisks).  Get succered into a second look once in a while.  TV is gonna have to go pretty soon.  Never watch "dangerous shows but even natgeo has beautiful scientists.  And the commercials are a problem too.  Soon.

anyway, kot you guys.  will check in soon.  it's late.

Hey Brit,  I misread, and thought your tag said Briut.  I'm really sorry.  Course I could blame it on being too lazy to go over to the table and get my glasses, but that would be putting myself down and I promised I'd stop doing that.  But it really was the galsses' fault.

Anyway, that was a great post, and totally helpful.  I had a talk with Hashem the other morning, right in the middle of Shacharis and, of course, I finally let the floodgates open and got back under His wing.  Hearing from you, and your experiences with lawsuits was important for me.  I'm glad that I caught my goof so I can thank you directly.

I dunno if you have a thread, but I'll go see and hop over there to thank you personally.

UPDATE.  those of you who have read these Megillas I write know my daughter and I have been slowly working at re-establishing a relationship.  Last Chanukah she blew me away with a picture she sent me of her next to her menorah, fourth night.

OK.  Yesterday I sent her an email asking her what she'd like for her birthday coming up soon.  She said what she'd really like is if I would go up to Seattle to see her, or if she could come down to my place to see me in LA.

So with all the tsuris in my life at the moment He sends me this miracle.  I haven't seen her in years.  We just started communicating again a few months ago.  And now this.

There's no accounting for His chesed.

Heads up guys....This all started happening after I got on GYE and started to be gotten clean!!!  Hoo masbiyah l'chol chai ratzon.

Abba Abba, thank You for Your gift.  I really like it.  It fits perfect.  How did you know?

Isn't it simple?

You return yourself to your Father in Heaven; your daughter returns to you!

(STAY CONNECTED to your Father; you don't want your connection with daughter to be just a fleeting connection...    )
