Today is BH day number 65 - and I"m reminding myself that its all chesed Hashem. May my heart hear what mouth is saying (or rather my fingers are posting !!)

I had a thought by mincha yesterday that i want to share :

we say in kedusha
נעריצך ונקדישך כסוד שיח שיח שרפי קדש......
let us revere You and sactify You just as the holy Seraphim

what do they do? they say

קדש קדש קדש ה צבקות מלא כל הארץ כבודו
Holy Holy holy is the name of Hashem, His Glory encompass the entire universe.

in other words when we say kedusha we are emulating the holy Seraphim by saying kadosh kadosh kadosh, just like  they say kedusha so do we say kedusha .

perhaps its a little deeper then that , a liitle more then a mere mimicking or parroting the holy Seraphim

Chaza"l teach us that whereever there is a  גדר ערוה  a fence against immorality, that is where you find the kedusha holiness.

which means that whenever I avert my gaze from immoral sites or whenever I overcome any urges of lust  or when I install no nonsense filters on my computers, it is precisely here  where I find kedusha

its at these moments,  the Jew declares  "I"M HEREBY SHOUTING OUT "KADOSH KADOSH KADOSH HIS GLORY FILL THE ENTIRE WORLD"

Which world you ask ? my own little little world:)

in essence we don't just say kedusha at  shachris or mincha we say kedusha a whole day and a whole night

somehow this thought didn't  come to my mind before the filters were installed in my computers .
I wonder why

Wishing the holy souls on this forum  a licteger, sober and productive day!!!

Heiliger bardichiver,

Have you seen what Reb Ykv one of your Getraiye Chasidim wrote to Farentfer & make Klur Your Mehalech on Rashkebehags page regarding the Torah is the way to go?

I don't think anyone disagrees with that including Reb Dov. but I think that some of us at least when we are starting anew need to let go for a while from the Torah they were learning until now & focus on the specific Torah that deals with this issue & helps us get out of the shmutz. And only when we are on more stable ground can we go back to the heavy shteiging away on all other subjects we did in the past.

I guess we are all on the same page now that Reb Ykv put it so Brilliantly.

I really admire Reb Ykv's "Loshoin Hazuhov" & his klurkeit on these issues.

Thanks for the D'Var Torah
Keep it Flowing

Dear berdichever - After posting an unbelieveably long post on another page, some to you, some to reb Yaakov, I read your post here, saw the defibrillator comment and laughed so hard I almost fell of my chair. Thank-you and thank Hashem for you, helping me and others stop taking so many things so darn seriously! Yasher Koach! Good shabbos and Reb Levi Yitzchak is surely smiling on all of us, possibly laughing, too! Do they have chairs up there?
"Off the 18-wheeler and fine on this tricycle!", "I do not particularly care exactly which "lav" suicide is. I'm not interested in it for other reasons...and you are probably the same."

I think Dov asked if they have chairs up there, because he suggested that Rav Levi Yitzchak may be laughing - and he wanted to know if it is possible to "fall off your chair" in Shamayim?

Dov - I will check with my sources on this and get back to you  ;D

Hey Bardichev,

I haev an important question for you that I think many people also have but dont realize it. What exactly is thing we call "LUST"? We say thats what we are addicted to but i cant admit that unlessI know what it means. To me its just a word that has bad connotations with sexual and impure feelings? Please elaborate Bardichev or anyone else that feels they can answer it.

Thanks

United States Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart said about pornography that it's hard to define, but "I know it when I see it."  To paraphrase Justice Stewart - we know what lust is when we experience it.
Just as an alcoholic needs to avoid that first sip, a lust addict needs to avoid that first slip.Slip today? No way! ;)Fall today? No way, Jose'!

Yes tayere ineedhelp!!

In order to answer you i will have to look up a most yesodesdikke sefer the gaon on mishlie

For a quick answer

Every person (not animal) has intellect his intellect is used to judge and weigh his actions and reaction to everything in life.

A person is very simple and very complex for example the brain is hard wired to breathe, seek food and shelter, sleep etc.

There are ways that Hashem helped us do our basic needs for existence .for example to eat he gave us hunger pangs as an alarm system that says "feed me or I will faint" he gave us an appetite so we should want to feed the body. If we had no appetite eating would be as enjoyable as filling a gas tank of your car Hashem actually built into our minds  a "desire" (chemda) we are wired to seek out things that we enjoy.

As an aside

It is a common mistake people think that life as a yid is meant to be  avodas perech  and enjoying life is as a Jew is left for some
People who dance on top of cars (nothing against anyone just a mashal )
Judaism is living a life of enjoyment (not self indulgence we will get to that soon be"h)

Back to your question we are created to desire enjoyment. If there was no enjoyment in the world there would be no business no food and no society at all ( everything I write can be found in chaza"l)

ACTUALLY THE GENERATOR OF OUR PLEASURE SEEKING /DESIRE IS NONE LESS THAN THE YETZER HORAH!!!!

What bardichev are you off your rocker??? No. I am right here and on target. The medrash teaches us vayar elok-im ess kol asher asa vhinei tov meod .tov ze ytzer tov (of course) meod zeh y"h !!!! Are you still reading this or are you dancing yet ?? You will be dancing soon. Hang on to my gartel for a few more salvos

We all know when the chachamim davened for the y"h of avoda zara to be removed it was (when was the last time you saw a terach style getshka store) the also prayed that the desire for znus to be removed .what happened husbands and wives had no relation even animals and fowl had no relations!!! (open gemoros not a fairy tale)

Meaning the dynamic the spark the initiation the instant of inspiration comes from the y'h  the generator of desire!!!
So what’s wrong with desire bardichev?? You make it sound like the best thing in the world (yes it is )
One second of desire the genie is out of the bottle .if gain if you harness it you will become the ultimate human being if not you will become totally controlled and totally subhuman!!!

Wow bardichev stop here my head is spinning!!!

Ok I will make it simple you can have a Ferrari Testarossa zero to 90 in 2 second whatever.. If you don't have brakes on it you can never drive it. Yes if the would have built the Ferrari in chelm
They would not put  brakes on it and of course the car would not even make it out of the garage.

We explained desire. Lust is one notch up lust is raw desire used as an end for itself not as a means to bring you to the level you are trying to attain.

Desire is enjoyable lust can be even more enjoyable but so much more dangerous be careful if you see the no brakes Ferrari coming down your street. also lust is self destructive.

I hope I explained it

And that was quickly yikes!!!

Humble and happy
bardichev
