HB, I'm glad you got away from the computer. That's the Surr Mei Rah part.
Now the Assay Tov part.
Think I'm gonna tell you to go to the Beis Medarsh, or take a tehillim, RIGHT?
WRONG!!
I'm suggesting you GET OUT OF THE ISOLATION THAT LETS YOU LOOK AT A SCREEN and get excited, and instead, be with PEOPLE.
And B"H you're blessed with a wonderful family of people all around you.
When this urge comes, go to your kids and hug them, ask about their day. Read to them, play with them. If they are asleep, tip toe to their room and just watch them sleep, or give'em a kiss on their soft little cheeks while they sleep. Remember (using the koach to day dream in a positive way) about something special you shared or did with them, each of them. Escape that way is healthy.
Go to your wife whom you love and respect so much. TALK TO HER. Don't you think she's lonely, too, and misses her husband? Spend some quality time just BEING in the same room with her. Maybe fold the laundry together. We have a bunch of family games, our favorite right now is Bananagrams. When I ask my wife to play a game with me, just the two of us, she still brightens up with joy like a little kid, cuz she wants to spend time with me, even with all my faults. She also wins more often than me.
Do it so you won't be alone. Do it so SHE won't be alone - think of it as chesed. Whatever the reason, just DO IT. BE with someone REAL.
PLease. Remember I believe in you, HB, and you could believe in yourself.
