I'm doing well.  I have power at work.  Just not at home yet.  Unfortunately, my family is at home suffering.  At least it is cool out.

"If you coast - you're toast" (me - trying to remind myself not to get complacent)

I just popped into my head, so I had to post. (hey, it all rhymes)

I was hoping you'd notice.  You have quite a repertoire of quotes, so that is quite a compliment!  Like I said it just fell into my head for no apparent reason.

The gemara in megilah 25b discusses different kriyas hatorah and whether we should read them in public and be metargem (translate) them.  The gemarah says that the maaseh of Yehudah and Tamar, we read and translate in shul.

The gemarah asks, Pekichsaa?! Obvious.  (oh, I see i got the kichsa edit for P e s h i t a)

The gemara answers, I would think that we should be concerned about the kavod of Yehuda.

KM"L - Since he admitted it - THIS IS HIS PRAISE!

This gemarah was a big chizzuk for me.  The gemarah doesn't say that we can learn a lot from Yehuda's mistake.  The gemarah says, that there is nothing to be embarrased about.  If we admit our mistakes - it is a source of PRIDE for us!

gevaldig!!

David Hamelech also said 'chatasi' immediately upon realizing his error and was ultimately forgiven, whereas Shaul rationalized his error and was deposed from office

Yes, The malchus and moshiach go through Yehuda and Dovid. The ability to be modeh, leads to malchus. (or to give it a 12 step spin. admitting powerlessness leads to real power.)

Somewhere on the forum yesterday, I saw some discussion about not being preoccupied with the Y"H.  I found the pages in esa einay that discuss this.  I meant to scan them, but didn't have time, so I will try to paraphrase.  If I have time, maybe I will scan and upload.

1- In a general way, a person has to be cognizant of the fact that there are nisyonos out there and prepare for them.  (One eitzah was to ponder a sheilah before leaving on the road and occupy your mind with it.)  2- However, once "out there", one should try and focus on something else and not be preoccupied with thinking "this is soooo hard",  "why is she dressed like that??????", ect.  (bards - your signiture helped me with this, I started saying in my mind "she may be a problem, but not my problem". Even your signiture has a hashpoeh!)

A rebbe once told me that the way to fight this Y"H in this is to be masiyach daas from it which is "2".  "1" is also important.  You must know and be prepared in the back of your mind for nisyonos, just don't give them "prime real estate".  It's a balance.
