Bumps in the road are a normal part of any marriage; addict or not. The question is what do you do when the road gets steep?
I once heard a beautiful mashal:

When a couple get married, they are given a long rope to hold. Each stands at opposite ends of the rope. Every time they argue, its as if they cut the rope which joins them. They are now faced with two choices; either to continue holding a torn rope as if nothing happened, and to pretend its not dragging along behind them.
Or they can chose to fix it.
To rejoin the rope, they will need to tie a knot at the break. What happens when one ties a knot in something? The distance between the two ends come closer!
