Im just board so i wrote up a script that every receptionist that works for a government office, utility company etc. has to follow
(you can read it, or not.. depends what you want... your decision)
Dear prospective phone receptionist please read the following guidelines carefully and confirm that you can abay them all, otherwise you are not fit for the job
· You must have a bad personality
· You must be socially off
· What was the longest time you let someone wait on hold? It must be no shorter than 10 minutes
· How many times can you repeat in a conversation: I’m so sorry to hear that, but unfortunately…
· How comfortable are you to lie when the person you are speaking to obviously knows that it's a lie?
· How unclear can you say the following confirmation number: 115J556KJ8952
· How many times can you repeat the person's email “with a mistake”?
· How quickly can you hang up the call after asking “Is there anything else I can help you”
· How long can you let the phone ring until you are annoyed and pick up?
· How many verification questions can you ask a person until he doesn’t know the answer (like what’s the pin number you created 5 years ago, even if it's correct you can say try it again, and when someone creates a pin it must have a 0 in it and make sure to enter it in the system as the letter O instead of the number 0, so it won't work next time he tries it, so you shouldn’t have to help again anymore)
· When verifying a person, you must ask him his Zip code + the 4 digits following (like 11231-0596 which no one knows)
· If you work for Verizon etc. and the caller calls in that he doesn't have service you must verify by sending a text to the phone that doesn't have service (how on earth is that possible, don’t ask..)
