isn't it true though that if we were on a high enough level, triggers wouldn't enter our head in the first place?

Well, the short answer is, perhaps, but (1) there's ALOT (read - years and years and years) to climb/travel/traverse to get to that "high enough level", and (2) that "high enough level" is not necessarily attainable for the vast majority of people.

I guess where that leaves (most) of us is, take it as it comes and try to devise healthier reactions to triggers and life's inherent stresses, no?
