I learned some important insights speaking to a friend just now...

Just as we were/are powerless over lust, we are powerless over our defects, but we can be granted freedom from both. We need to do whatever is in our power and let G-d do the rest. A lifelong process of watching our defects, doing what we can to correct them, and become willing to have them removed.

This is the Mussar core of truth I need to internalize!
0% Tolerance and 100% Self-Forgiveness.

Wow - that's very powerful... it really captures the idea of being moser nefesh to Hashem... very apropos for this week's parasha.

Thanks, Larry. I'm very fortunate -- all of us here are, actually -- to have unfettered access to so many wise souls. There are some very impressive minds here on GYE, and even more impressive neshamot.
