it comes shavuot now, jews went out on a thursday, the torah was given on a shabat after 7 weecks, how many days do we have? not 50, so how come we say shavuot is the time of matan tora?
answers the rivosh, True nothing to do shavuot with matan tora, just today that we have the luach it happens to be in the same time.
shavuot is about bikurim not about matan tora. thats it no more tora here only porn brake!

It could be that this is why the torah says to make Shavuos ממחרת השבת to further allude to the aspect of Torah Shbaal Peh.  In that it is only through Torah Shbaal Peh that we know that ממחרת השבת refers to the day after Pesach and not Shabbos Beraishis.

I heard it being explained with a stress on the words Matan Toraseinu. This is a loshon of Matanah = a gift.

Until now the Torah belonged to Hashem; now it belongs to us!


The fact that Moshe Rabbeinu was able to push off the Giving Of the Torah until the next day PROVES that Klal Ysiroel OWN the Torah!


This was on the 1st day of Yom Tov Shevuos!
