Being close to my age, I think we'd enjoy quite a bit in common - do you also find modern rock just isn't nearly as good as the more classic stuff?  How did you get into the music and movies you're into?

And if you play piano, guitar or violin, then you certainly won't be identifiable at all - everyone seems to play them in Jewish communities.

today only chasidic music, yanni, classic.

the chasidic music got better last few years, the sound got better the arangments got better.

the best 2 cd in my eyes in the musical aspect (arangment) are the first cd of mordechai with let my ppl go

the arangments are very good. but im not sure what u enjoy in music.
i enjoy trumpets doing spanish moves
i enjoy the bass doing contradictions with the song and still sounds good
i enjoy the guitar doing stuff like in the beguining of summer 69 (brian addams)

It is irresponsible to keep a pool without a gate or fence in your house if you have kids.  But it is a Mitzva to teach your kids to swim.  The alternative is to say that any body of water larger than a bathtub is assur...  But I respect that many Rabbonim who are far more learned than I am have pronounced it assur, and I therefore respect their opinion.  However I reject some of the more extreme pronouncements, such as "anyone who makes their Parnoso using the Internet should not give their money to Tzedaka, because it is tainted". (Yes, I saw that with my own eyes)

I think that different communities need different things right now, and the world is changing so fast that it is difficult to keep track of which communities need what, and how.




Actually, I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter.  I accept that it is dangerous, and like giving a person a chainsaw.  But a chainsaw is not assur?  Surely it just needs proper training and safety precautions?
