Mazel Tov and I will celebrate by going home and hugging my son who makes me meshugah. How that will help you, I am not sure.....but it sounds interesting.

Love,

Great Dov, I am pleased to be a catalyst for you practicing some positive sobriety.
The Blind Beggar is a character in Rebbe Nachman's story of the Seven Beggars.
If I view a woman as an object, I am powerless over lust, but I don't have to look.
I can guard my eyes.
I want to guard my eyes.
I do guard my eyes.
Why do I say these four lines?

Eye.nonymous told me the affirmation should be positive, "I guard my eyes.", "I looked away." and not negative "I didn't stare and lust!", because the mind only hears the positive so if you think "I didn't stare and lust!" your mind registers, "I did stare and lust!"

This is the second time in my life that I have gone 100 days without masturbating. The first time was before I came to GYE when I read a sefer, והאר עינינו by Rabbi Yosef Goldschmit of Kiryat Sefer. The main point of his sefer is based on something that Rav Chaim Friedlander zatzal wrote which I am about to post in the Beis Medrash, bezras Hashem.

There are 2 new posts from והאר עינינו in the Bais Medrash

A group of bochurim in Gateshead Yeshiva got so much תועלת from the sefer that they divided it up into 30 parts so they could learn it every month. The mechaber now prints it according to their system.

Any idea where I can find this Sefer? Does anyone sell it online?

Thanks - YVY

We know from the seforim hakedoshim that the 7 days of the week are influenced by the 7 aliyos of the weekly sedra. This Shabbos is influenced by shevii of Bolok which is the terrible sin of znus with Moabite girls and Baal Peor and a plague which killed 24000 yidden. We are all in danger of falling this Shabbos even without the Internet even if the only shiksas are in our head.

On the other hand, in the aliyo of shevii we also have Pinchos who acted with great mesiras nefesh and became a great winner, stopping the plague and becoming a cohen. We can all gain closeness to Hashem and big rewards if we act correctly this Shabbos.

Dear KateDaring52,

Your username makes it sound like you are female. And that's great. But if you are, there is a mechitza here for a reason. If you are not, then why use a female-sounding username?
I am not the police here, so all I will do is ask, and then wish you a hearty:

Hatzlocha!!

I think that's a very significant number according to kabbalah.

24 days on the chart.
Boruch Hashem, I have not masturbated for 114 days and I haven't stuffed myself on food for two weeks. Since I don't smoke, drink, take drugs or gamble, I am left without any drugs for my problems. Consequently, I am very depressed and angry all the time because of my ever growing debts.
I think it is time for the Third Step: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

It sounds like you are getting increasingly in touch with those issues that have been driving your addictive behaviors.  And, it sounds like you're on the right track to be able to overcome them now, with G-d's help.

Good luck.

Mazal Tov on your accomplishments!
if you'd like to commiserate about debts we have alot in common
but I must tell you that its much better to deal with the debts without having to deal with the guilt that the masturbating is causing the debts.
