Hi-

I was here for a few weeks before my wedding 2 years ago (under a different name). At that point I was working on recovering from a Pornography addiction, or more to the point, I was trying to stop.

Since I got married, I have stopped, I had one slip up a few weeks into my marriage, which I told my wife about since she knew about the addiction before we got married, but have been clean since then. Part of me feels like I am free, but I know that if I even slip up once I would fall right back in to the hours a day of the stuff.

Anyway, I figured I'd introduce myself and say Hi, and say that I am trying to stay clean!

Any advice of where to start?

Hi and welcome back!
Not clear what you're asking when you say "Any advice where to start?"
Haven't you been "clean" for the past 2 years?

After you got married you took on your wife's name???

Just kidding. Great to have you back. Are you feeling weak at the moment? What brings you back? Do you feel like things are getting more difficult for you?

To answer all questions at once,

No, that is not my real name. It is a psuedonym created just for this site :-)

The reason I am back is because I realized that I had caused hurt to other people due to this illness (Asked and received forgiveness for some of the bigger things already) and want to work out what was causing and how to avoid future slip ups.

I was quite addicted before and have been "clean" but not recovered. So I decided that instead of wasting my time doing the things I do to avoid looking at "stuff" and filling it up with stupidity, I would try to deal with my real issues with lust, and not pretend they aren't there.

Gibbor - :-) cute, but real reason for change of name is I can't remember the anon email address I signed up with so I can't get my username or password since I don't remember either.

I was in a similar situation. I was clean for 2 years without any real recovery. I began studying the 12 steps, reading and applying them. I have also found it helpful to speak to someone about my issues with lust from time to time, and also to develop friendships, including getting together just to hang out and talk (and try different beers;). There are also frum phone groups (check the announcements section) and, of course, local live SA groups.

Hatzlacha!
