Here in EY, the Yiddish speaking kids don't call them 'Kiggeluch' or 'Kugellach', rather 'Tchaich' in the singular or 'Tchaichen' in plural, and I was wondering where they got that from. Originally i had thought that this was Arabish like some other words in the local dialect of Yiddish, and then I learnt Hilchos Treifos:

I was baffled until I got to סי' נ"ו which I quoted above, and then I was really impressed.
