No - maybe just not realizing just how much your friends here care about you.

What you say is true, though, in regard to how you feel - I can understand that you would feel more comfortable calling someone who you have a constant relationship with.

You really care about me?!?!?! :D

So yesterday I saw a magazine in the yeshiva mailbox addressed to one of the bochurim. It wasn't a very clean magazine, if you get my drift. I really want to do something about it to help the guy out. Any suggestions? I'm open to all. I've already gotten responses like don't do anything you need to worry about yourself first and leave a paper with a note in his tefillin bag and go ask him about it. Just want to see what the general consensus (from the four people that read this thread :D) is.

I need to go learn now. Hope everyone had a good shabbos! Time for a new better week.

When I was in Yeshiva occasinally my mail got censored and it made me furious, it certainly never helped me and I deeply resented it. I wasn't holding by apppreciating the censorship. So in my opinion you will not be helping the fellow by taking it in spite of your noble intentions.

Taking it wasn't the question, although even if it had been it was already gone by the time shabbos was over. My question lies more along the lines of helping him out by directing him to gye.

I am #5!  ;D

On the other matter

My thoughts are that you should NOT give him any literature from GYE or even an advertisement. Rather slip a paper which has only the URL to this site: www.GuardYourEyes.org .

I think that if he gets anything more than that it is likely that he will react (as many of us did when we first heard about it) with thinking: "What? Me? An addict? Noway!"

But if he gets nothing more than an address, he might be curious enough to find out what it is all about.        At the very least, he will better remember where to return to when he hits rock-bottom and is truly ready to start growing.

when you write the URL down on the piece of paper, do it in K'Sav handwriting that way we'll know if he made his way to this website.  (imagine his first post:  "Hi, my name is ****** and I just received a little note sent directly from G-d....)

If you are afraid that he will recognize your handwriting, print it on a computer.

A little hora'ah in avodas Hashem that I learnt today when trying to push a stuck car out of the snow. If you try to push straight away the tires will often just spin or the car will just slide around (almost hitting the neighboring car). However if you rock the car BACK AND FORTH, even if you have to do it several times, you'll get the momentum and the car will just SPRING forward. (The car was in drive and the driver was with us pushing  )

K, time to bring this thread up back to the top of the page. It's getting harder to find it.

Anyway. WOW!!! Hashem was really looking out for me last night. I started getting triggered last night to the point that I went on webchaver to see if the couple sites I know would allow me to get by without raising any red flags. Wasn't successful. However, I think I already failed in that regard because I was lusting. Even if I didn't act out. I was going at it for like half an hour. Then a kid I arranged with yesterday to learn with at 10PM called me to ask me if we were learning and I got myself  up and agreed to learn. THANKS HASHEM!!!! 8)
