These are the words of the beis halevi (drasha 15) thought would be a nice thing to share on erev yom kippur
והנה כל זה הוא בכל השנה אמנם בויה"כ יש בו ביום מעלה גדולה דמיד שנתחרט האדם ומקבל עליו לשוב ממעשיו הרעים והתוודה עליהם הקב"ה בחסדו מעביר ממנו התשוקה והנטיה שהגביר בעצמו להרע ומעבירו ממנו.
Meaning that the koach of yom kippur is not just to remove an aveira through tshuva, but it also can change the persons drive and draw to do bad.
