Service That Filters Downloading Files 04 Oct 2022 09:21 #386255

Anyone know of a service that restricts downloading of files?
I have a problem where I download emulators of devices which allow me to use a digital phone that has no filter on my computer, and everytime I block one download website a thousand more are still available.
I would want something that would make me need permission from someone else before downloading any new programs(ideally excluding things like patches or updates to programs/games I already have)
If anyone knows of anything it could be a real gamechanger for me

Many TAG filters (Gentech, Netspark, Techloq) block the sites that have downloads of emulators (although nothing is perfect).

Gentech should block such emulators from running after being downloaded, and it should block any search results from showing up that would show you more websites that give you access to emulators. I would recommend it if you haven't tried it already. I also recommend getting webchaver because it will be able to screenshot everything on your screen, and the emulators won't be able to bypass that. Look in my signature of how to get it for free.

If gentech doesn't work, then I would recommend getting webchaver with it's optional filtering because it works on the internet level through DNS filtering, so those emulators would be filtered because they're still relying on the internet of the host device.

Even if you already have a filter, these are necessary additions because
they fix many loopholes that exist with paid filters (speaking from firsthand

Also, you should consider having someone as the administrator account on your device and making your account into a standard user. In order to download and run such programs you'll then need that person to input the pin to the administrator account otherwise you won't be able to run them even though you would be able to download the programs and installers.

Here's how to do that if you need help with it:
To change the administrator status of an account, all you need to do is to add an account to the computer (or you can do this with an existing account on the computer) and set that account as the administrator through the device settings. Then you have to log into that new administrator account and change the status of your account to a "standard user". This changes nothing other than the status of the accounts that were involved in the status change, no files or anything else will be affected. The account you set as the administrator should belong to someone who lives with you and has access to the device because you may need him/her to grant certain permissions on it and things similar to that. And in your case he/she should ideally be proactive in making sure that they will wait until you run the program to see what you just downloaded and if it's kosher or not.
