Just a random rant about how the brain patterns work in the minds of our female counterparts.

This is not a "blaming" or "it's their fault" rant, rather just trying to get inside their brains and maybe gain a little understanding that my poor man brain obviously just doesn't get.

I get getting all dressed up for a wedding although I am not sure why the mother of the bride's co-worker (or worse, the father's) needs to dress up like she is going to a fashion shoot.

I get also (not really though) getting dressed up for Shabbos although here too I am not sure why Shul became the lions den for guarding your eyes (I am not even talking about the ones that don't have a separate lobby/entrance).

But whats with dropping your kids off in the morning? I mean seriously?!

It's not about "why do I have to see this", I try to look away right away but what is even the point? Why is it worth the effort? Why can't you just be like the other 97% of ladies who's clothing are just that, clothing?

I don't get it, I don't think I ever will along with the many other things that "you just don't get".

Anyway, thanks for listening.

I was thinking about this sort of thing the other day. Why women dress the way they do. But I don't think its logical.

Look at a 4 year old boy and girl. The boy is rolling around in the mud, picking up worms, sometimes even attempting to eat them. But the girl is frolicking around in a pretty princess dress with her tiara on trying to look beautiful. Why? She's 4! Answer seems to be, that's just their nature. Its the way girls are. They want to look nice. I don't think its 'for the guys.' Just girls have that inbuilt desire that we men don't understand to always want to look nice.

Additionally, like Dov says, more often then not, when you see a girl dressing immodestly, she's not doing it for men. She's wearing a sleeveless shirt because she is feeling hot, its a sunny day and she's sweating. Especially nowadays where you often see young pre-teen girls wearing tops that show there stomachs. Today's society has made that style of dress the norm - its not outrageous to them, its normal. Lav davka they are doing it to get looked at.

So that's my (briefly thought out, needs far more work ... or not!) take. Women have an inbuilt desire to look pretty. And most of that which we consider alluring is just another dress for them.

Much Htazlochs.

p.s. 97% of the women wher you live wear actual clothing!? Wowah, halevei that was everywhere!

יהי רצון שהדברים לתועלת

Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
We all make choices in life, but in the end, our choices make us.

It's funny, I was actually focusing more on dressing up then dressing down. I am talking about frum women and frum schools.

This has nothing to do with their trying to attract our attention I just can't figure out how they do all this.
Like when do they sleep if at 8:30 every morning they are already at school  (I don't want to stereotype about what car they drive, but you can use your imagination) with a perfectly done shaitel full face of makeup and the works?
Who gets their kids dressed and feeds them breakfast?
Wow do they have the time for all this?

My point is, is it really worth it? Who really cares? No one else seems to see the need for that "perfect" look?

I guess the rest of them are just passed that.

What about the kids? Are they bearing the brunt of all this? I mean how does she have any time for them?

Try explaining to a woman that the next person doesn’t care if she has the “perfect” image, it’s a hopeless argument and I second Kakasef that it is their nature and they are just trying to please everyone and not trying to sexually turn everyone on. And they do this while juggling breakfast, work, driving, etc so they put pressure on themselves to have the perfect image AND juggle life....ok I’m done ranting/giving my take. You can still identify as one if you so choose... you can't be forced to lead your life a certain way just because you were born that way... Not all is lost, you can still choose...

"אין אשה מתקנא אלא בירך חברתה"
.מגילה יג-

It is the most natural thing in the world for a woman to want to look as pretty as possible, and according to the Chazal above, specifically to look prettier than the women around her.

We as men will never understand the relationship a women has with her appearance.

And it's not an issue of religiosity. Intelligent people in chinuch roles know not to fight this natural urge, but to use that inherent koach and shift the focus into valuing the refined part of looking good as opposed to the sexual part.

Noch a mazel they don't need to go to shachris. How in the world would find this extra hour.
