Blunj, Yom Kippur is not the acceptance exam for hell. It's actually not connected to hell at all.  It's a misconception that G-d is sending us to hell because we didn't behave on Yom Kippur.
What yom Kippur is actually about is quite the opposite. It is a day of opportunity to turn to G-d. To speak to Him. To reflect on our year(s) and decide how we're going to act/ what we will do the day after Yom Kippur.  It's not a probation period when G-d is stricter with us. It's a mediation period when G-d is listening closer and wants to hear out thoughts and plans. Talk to Him. Turn to Him. He loves you more then you'll ever know. He's watching and waiting "when will My farblunjet turn to Me for a conversation" He put you here and he wants you to succeed AND HE WANTS TO HELP YOU DO THAT. We just need to turn to Him. "Pischso pesach Shel machat..."
Always remember, Hashem is our loving Father Who loves and wants us.

I really can't agree with this more. If we are able to change our perspective and realize that G-d is not out there to hurt us or make Judaism some kind of competition. He is really there for us and he is always doing what's best for us. He is the infinite giver and loves us more than we'll ever understand.
