Dont worry Loynata its not restricted to DC callers, Steve means that we'll just advertise it for people on the DC call and maybe get a shout out from DC if he thinks its a good idea. And no, it will be strictly for GYE members. If a goy calls in we wont kick him off but it will be only advertised on GYE.

yiddle's right, I didn't mean to restrict it to only the DC guys. I just didn't know what he meant to do. We're all in this boat together. Just don't sit on my life preserver...

I think tho', yiddle, you may get more people once we get past step 5, I think we'll feel more secure when we see ourselves climbing out and see more of the light at the end of the tunnel. But you might feel diff, since you've been in other groups. Waddayathink?

Is there a point in the step program where this discussion could be counterproductive, make us step, back instead of foreward?

Ive never been through the steps before, I have just joined in on a random nightly call where the people go through certain questions answering them. It may help to have gone through 5 steps because people may be more open afterwards. Who knows. What I know is that we need like 4-6 more people. Thats not much!!

To all you guys who want to sign up for Yiddle's call, have you ever tried Elya's call? I understand there's a lot of room for talking and discussion there too!

If you describe exactly what you think members stand to gain from this call, and why it is different than Elya's free weekly phone conference, then maybe I'll announce it in a chizuk e-mail...

I was once on Elya's call and although its is great for people to be on, it is not ideal for many people to be on. Just like woith DC's calls it can very hard for a person to speak up, especially if one person talks alot. But in the type of call that I would like to set up, everyone has an alotted time to speak so no one can feel that they cant speak up. I also don t what the format of Elya's call is, but this call would not directly have to do with the 12 steps. This will be a more of how you are doing in general, how your day went, what to expect in the next day and how you plan on trying to prevent lust from entering your body. Unlike Elya, I will not say that one should get sobriety from joining this call. If a person does that is great, but doing this alone will probably get them sobrity so I am not going to promise that. Another difference between Elya's call and this call would be timing. I would like to make the time when people have the most difficult time with lust, over the weekend(atleatst for me). maybe a Friday and Sunday call (or even MotZei Shabbos). But we would need more people to commit because not everyone will be able to make very call becasue it si going to be on the weekend.

What do you guys think?

As I understood it, and as Yiddle just mentioned, some of the guys participating in Duvid Chaim's calls wanted something for the days that there are no calls (Friday - Sunday).

That I did not know! Maybe privately you can tell me who specifically? Maybe we can recruit them. So if Tomim is in I guess that makes 5 for a trial call.

I don't know if there were specific people mentioned on the call itself, but I think he was stating it from the general concensus that the crew feels less chizuk on Fri-Sun because there's no call those days. DC always suggested and reminded us to spend those days in the company of others, not to be alone, and also to try volunteering or helping others on those days. The giving and the fuzzy slipper feeling of joy it gives us was one antidote he gave over for those times.

Now after today's call I see the giving is more than that - it's a frontal attack on the selfishness and egotistic state of being that got us here. THERFORE, ERGO, it will naturally help to lessen the desire for lust, as it will one day be it's undoing altogether.

Nice pun with ergo and ego. I am going to work out the quirks (is that the right word to use? eh, who knows/cares) with DC. He and Guard are both in for it and DC said we could use his conference call line cause no one uses it then anyways. Hopefully this will be something that more than 5 people will catch onto!!
