It gets easier.

If it doesn't, you're doing it wrong.

I was listening to a shiur once, no idea who, or when, don't quote me...

The rav explained the plight of some guy. But he had it real tough. No money, his wife died R'L. then his child got really sick. Something to this effect. Real, traumatic stuff.

And he cried to the rav, obviously on the rocks with his relationship with Hashem. He asked why it was so hard. Why life was so much full of despair?
And he replied like this:

"You know, it's not supposed to be like that. A normal person doesn't go through such anguish. It's not normal. You're supposed to have a good life. You're a special case."

Now I know this contradicts the Rashi at the beginning of Vayeishev but I don't think it necessarily means it's wrong. We're supposed to be happy, functioning people. Life's supposed to be something worth getting up for in the morning. And such trauma is really an exception to the norm. Else we'd all collapse.

It is hard. But it's not normal. If it's too hard, that is.
It's hard for me. But I'm an addict. I'm not normal. So it fits.

hashem only gives us nisyonos that we can take that means that even with those niyonos your supposed to be happy, no? cause if you cant then hashem wouldn't have given those nisyonos to you. i really dont agree with that rav
