Yisro - even though he was a ba'al Teshuva and a ger tzedek - was sent home before matan Torah (according to many rishonim) and could not be there for it...because he was not in the enslavement with the other Jews. He couldn't get the sweet goodies without first having been in the toilet with the rest of us.
It's not
likely that anyone can get the Solution, if you don't have the Problem.
And acting the way those who admit they have the problem act, is a real good
segulah for getting the same goodies that
they get in their recovery. I am not foretelling, just sharing an observation you can ignore, disagree with, or accept and then just live with.
