Ok some of you may have seen this question prior but i felt it deserves its own post. My work computer is soley owned by my corportaion. I am not allowed to download any software whether its tracking systems or plain fliters. There is a work fliter but its far from perfect. Wahts my eitza? Quite my job? And this is standard for Corporate America. And no I can't call my IT and ask them for rights to download filters. It just doesn't work that way. Everything is a bearucratic system. The IT guys down on Costa Rico follow orders. Its not a small hiemish company.

this is a standard shaale that should be discussed with ur Rav. Although Your rav may not be aware of your situation and struggles that you are going through, it is understood by any normal rav that a filter is needed and a necessity for any human being. The rav if he is bright enough should be able to advise you and guide you through how to deal with this. This is certainly not a joke.

What i wrote was that you dont have to be struggling in lust in order to need a filter. therefore you are not opening up your matzav to a Rav if you are discussing how to deal with a filter issue.

If it's a big enough company they might actually be monitoring everything you do online anyway. Maybe something to keep in mind when you're tempted. Ayin Roeh V'Ozen Shomaas... Halevai Sheyehei Morah Shomayim Kemorah Basar Vadam.

Thats a good thought and somewaht of a deterent. But I should tell you that,
1) They offically understand that their employees on occasion or while eating lunch or taking a coffee need a break. Thus they do allow facebook providing its not exceesive. Its an offical company policy.
2)Not during work hours (like sundays when I still must work remotely) they care even less what you do. As long as you don't virus up their system.
Its true that its a strong deterent against porn. And many pron websites can virus you too. if a virus ever gets into their system you are fried.
But bottom line the deterent not to chat with girls on-line or to browse you tube is very low.

Hi waydown
Getting a filter is wonderful, but we know that a filter isn't enough.
Whats about changing the setting of your office, like having someone sharing your room, or just have your screen be visible to others.

Did you try speaking to the IT? you never know maybe give it try.

I wish you lots of hatzluche
 *  NO, It's not all or nothing, just every bit counts!
 *  I failed yesterday, and I might fail tomorrow. But just for today I'm going to give it a try.
 *  Being curios made me lust and get into trouble.

Thanks doingtshuva,

1) I work in a cube not small office. Noone shares cubes in my corporation but yes my screen is visable to people whp pass by.
2) Forgive me for being blunt. It doesn't sound like you are familair with the nuiances of a large corporation. When a company has 25,000+ workers they set up systems how things work and thats it. There is no such thing as getting an IT guy to allow you to have admin rights. These are the rules and finished. The IT guy who is some hired worker out in Costa Rico is not calling the CEO for you because you have some religious reason. It just doesn't work that way.
