Maybe this is a nutty question but I had 2 great days with basically no lusting (or fighting it.) Should I consider this an accomplishment {2 awesome days}OR--- maybe those days were just gifts from Hashem and I didn't really GROW in those 2 days b/c I didn't fight my Yetzer Hara?

Instead of answerin' your question (and i have many kashos on it), I will tell you the prayer i say in each of my shemoneh esrei's: RBS"O, I know that there is nothin' that I do without You helpin' me, allowin' me, assistin' me and enablin' me; let it be Your will that my family and I should continue to serve You, and whatever You deem appropriate should be led to success; let be, let God!

Now, i am no expert, and I am not sayin' this is correct, but I thought that it might give you some food for thought for your question (and i didn't even touch on the growin' and the yetzer hara stuff).

There are no nutty questions. Well almost none. How much more awesome does life get than Hashem giving us gifts! God is right there with you and handing you a gift, that's awesome! Personally I want clean days and I was never able to accomplish that on my own and i was never able to fight my yetzer hara. So if I turn all that over to Hashem, is that not an accomplishment? And if he accepts it and gives me a gift in return isn't that gevaldig? Also you may ask another question, and it may be what you are asking after all. If Hashem gives me two days without the obsession of lust, what did in fact do with those days? Did I appreciate them and take advantage of them or squander them? For me that would be a much harder question.

Let me know what you think?

(btw taking advantage of them may be that I spent time with my family)

I'm certainly no expert, but I'd say they were gifts from Hashem... but then - what's wrong with getting gifts from Hashem? All of life is a gift from Hashem! For everybody! No reason to feel down about it, right? Just say 'thank you, Hashem' and move on.

You know - I just typed out all of this, and it wouldn't surprise me if tomorrow I had something similar happen where I wouldn't think of this!

Sorry this is disjointed . Hope it's helpful.

Have a good, clean day,
Larry
