I thought, for the benefit of the oylam, I'd make a list of songs that have kept me going, and given me chizuk. Some of them are poshut why they're on the list, while some are slightly more 'wacky', but all of them are incredible songs that have made a difference to me. Some of these songs are good for chizuk, while some are incredible to help us realise everything that Hashem does for us. Music can be a powerful tool in this struggle, and here are just a few songs that helped me. The list is far from complete- feel free to add! (In fact, please add so I don't feel like a loner ) Here it is, arranged by artist, with the album in brackets:
Avraham Fried
Keep Climbing (Keep Climbing)
Kach es Sheli (Keep Climbing)
Hofachto (Keep Climbing)
Light (Keep Climbing)
Bein kach U'bein Kach (Bein kach U'bein Kach)
Tzomo Nafshi (Forever one)
Ki Hamitzvo (No idea what album)
Chazak (Chazak)
Shtar Hatanoim (Shtar Hatanoim)
Ein od Milvado (Don't know album)
Alle Katan Sheli (Single)
Ki Hirbeisa (Single)
Lipa Schmeltzer
Carry On (A PoBAD WORD REMOVEDer Yid)
Oichiloo (A PoBAD WORD REMOVEDer Yid)
A PoBAD WORD REMOVEDer Yid (A PoBAD WORD REMOVEDer Yid)
MBD
Efshar Letaken (Efshar Letaken)
Daaga Minayin (No idea what album)
Nichsefo (Kissufim)
Hold on (Hold on)
Yisroel Amar
Gam Zu (Bayom Hahu)

I wanted to comment on this topic because I am a crazy music fan, when my friends need to know a song who sang it etc. they ask me. They sometimes laugh at me that I am an iPod on feet (believe me my iPod is filled to capacity and the overflow is on my computer) but the music I would suggest might be a give away for any one who knows me and will read this forum. It is non-Jewish (kosher) music of a few certain selected composers.

Let me guess,
Eminem, Mozart, Elvis, and Raffi?

and even if you like Goyish music, a Weirdo like me can Jewafy it for you...
Ie. Der Bakgasse Bucherim, (my favorite) Brucha Shapiro (?) Michuel Yankelzon, Ha Avanim Hagilgulim, Elya Preslowitz (who may or may not have been a shabbos goy, and who may or may not have been jewish)
It is integral when Jewafying a song to add intermittent oy oy oys, and try to play it whith a bit more minor chords, preferably diminished...

Here is a link to an MP3 of the dancing music from the siyum hashas. It always lifts me up when I listen to it.

This morning I felt the yetzer starting to make trouble. I listened to Shlomo Simcha's rendition of Carlbach's Mizmor L'dovid and that worked quite well for me.

Eli
Roy in the SA White Book noted that we frequently prayed and it did not work...because the best we could muster was begging G-d to "Please take it away, so I will not have to give it up!

I'm curious whats the view of listening to non-jewish music for chizuk?

There are many goyish songs that pick me up tremendously especially in this struggle.
