does anyone know how to block google homepage-'shopping' and 'video' to block even opening picture of video and inappropriate modeling of women that can be accessed via the shopping whatever its called because my father called in a technician & he said it cant be blocked.

NO NO you are not doomed at all I have fallen to any times too, just get up and keep on trucking.
And about the Internet I am no technician but I bet people here will have what to help. Maybe make your home page www.yiddleit.com/ that way you don't have the picture and video option straight away. You can still get to it by going to google but it will help when the picture, video button does not sit there in your face.

You can block any site by adding it to the list of prohibited sites on whatever filter you're using.
Even the built-in microsoft filter will do this.

If you're an addict, the filter is really not as valuable as it's made out to be. You can't rest peacefully and kick back just because you've got a filter. I've been through a bunch of different softwares and variations, and no matter what, I always fell if I wanted to. I always found something triggering if I needed it. And the best part was that I had a great excuse: "it's not my fault, it's the darn filter-it doesn't work!"
So... if the filter is doing a decent job of things (i.e. blocking porn and lingerie), I would stop obsessing about it. You can spend thousands on technicians and perfect settings and still fall. It's as easy as getting to the nearest bathroom and unzipping your pants (actually, it's way easier than that but I'll spare you the details).

Sorry if I'm completely off target. I am mostly aiming this at myself.
