i need advice. i desperately want to get my laptop out of my house until i have my issues more under control. the problem is that there is nowhere in my house that i can pack it that i wont go to get it, i can't bring myself to smash another one (yes ive already smashed one in my lifetime, out of frustration from "the problem") its $600 and eventually i will start using it again because im in school. and i dont want to ask a neighbor to keep it cuz thats weird and potentially embarassing. its so frustrating! I DONT WANT IT! and yet it seems like theres nothing I can do about it! any ideas?

have you tried accountabilty software? it keeps me off everything my yetzer wants...

I haven't  done accountability software. I don't have anyone I feel uncomfortable doing it with.

Password protect the computer.  Write down an impossible-to-remember password, email it to someone (me if you like), then set the password and destroy the paper you wrote it on.  Also delete the sent email.  When you've gotten further into recovery and feel safe with a laptop, retrieve the password from the person you gave it to.

OK, I only asked where you live as maybe someone from this forum can help you. saying "new york area" or "Jerusalem area" might be enough to find the help you need.

oh ok sorry. i live in the new york area. i like alex eliezers idea of making a password that i dont remember and giving it to somebody else to hold. i think i'll try that.

so ive done it. i had somebody else make a password to access my laptop and instructed them to not give it to me for a few months. here's hoping it will help me.
