I would like to know what people think if its possible that the SA program should make a person worse off

That if a person has small nisyonois & he gets around with people that did bigger aveiros maybe it makes him worse off

Not in my experience.

i  know there can be at least two reasons why a person will be "worse off" though they get better if they keep working the program
1) a person is working on themselves and uncovering things they may not want to learn and may be hard to digest that causes them to run
2) a person hears lots of "worse" cases then him and trys them out or feels oh im not so bad compared to that guy. 
3) the intense focus on the problem can make it harder to feel good about oneself if he isnt succeeding

It's hard to discuss in a forum without knowing you personally. I'd suggest discussing it with someone who has experience sending people - you can reach out to Cordnoy or Hashem Help Me.

Additionally, it is worth remembering that even if it does pose some risk - for those that do go to SA, the risks or certainties of what would happen if they did not go to SA are much more serious. Again, I don't know you, but that may be the case for you
