there is a story with the Chozeh of Lublin and Reb Aizel Charif (who was a misnaged). Reb Aizel asked the Chozeh why so many people come to him for brachos and eitzos. The Chozeh said he has the same question. Reb Aizel told him that he should get up in shul and announce that there is no reason for anyone to come to him. That is what the Chozeh did. And even more people came to him because they saw that he was an anav. So Reb Aizel asked the Chozeh to get up in shul and say that he is in fact a tzadik and can indeed help people. To this the Chozeh answered: "I cannot say lies".

a little while ago my wife texted me to come out of my office and meet her outside the building. i came out and she was nowhere to be seen. my mind started running off saying "why can't she text me when she is here, not when she is a few blocks away and have me stand outside in the cold?"
then i realized what my attitude was doing to me. here it's a beautiful sunny day, a little chilly but nothing major, and i am sitting in my office most of the day, not getting to enjoy the sunlight and air. now i am being given the opportunity to relax and enjoy the fresh air for a few minutes without a bother.

a small little thing but it shows me how my attitude and thinking processes need fixing.

thank you Hashem for that lesson. thanks to the wife for being the vehicle for teaching me how to live.
