Last nite some of my kids were complaining (and getting really into the complaining mode) about a few issues regarding the family's circumstances and background.
While i did validate their concerns i posed a challenge to them: i offered $10 to whoever can write up a list of 100 things they are thankful for.
They immediately took to it enthusiastically and all of them completed it. It seems they were mainly interested in the reward but i think it imparted a certain lesson as well. i was inspired by this article on matzav.com:
