Mostly I keep my mouth shut, unless asked a question.  And then I tend to hem and haw a lot, like, "Hmmm,  I think that's a rabbi question.  Would you like me to ask and get back to you?"  That's sort of what I try to say.

But they see me, and watch me.  And they all take me and my particular Yiddishkeit very seriously.  Inch by inch I see them moving more and more towards the/their derech.  They ask. Good enough.

How are you, Z?  What is Archie Bunker doing under the table, anyway?

thank you for your concern, much appreciated

and if i am to be the resident high and holy one i think a little dispensing of timeless wisdom is in order
please take out your notebook

lesson #1: i have enough money to last me for the rest of my life, unless i need to buy anything

lesson #2: to skydive you do not need a parachute, unless you plan on doing it twice

Sorry Rebbe, but as we learned in lesson one -I can't afford a notebook.

When do you think youll be planning the second annual class sky dive? It should be a half price deal -since according to lesson two, we aren't supposed to be paying for parachutes.

By the time we're ready to call anybody Mr. Splat, it's usually too late for them to respond to that name...

If Cliff-jumping is the sport where the guys jump off cliffs; doesn't skydiving entail diving UPWARDS?

Remember this: Jumping sends you upward and diving sends you downward.  Cliff-diving would end in a very big splatt, if you compare it to deep-sea diving.
