Hi,

I am once again sorry for not posting in a while. A lot has been happening.

I think I went through a 35 clean period (or something like that) and then fell again.

Recently, my wife has given birth to a baby girl! We are so delighted, and it is a really exciting time. I was determined that I should use the opportunity to stop acting out, and was successful for the first few weeks. Then, I basically had 10 days when I was acting out every night, and couldn't seem to break the cycle. Now I am on 3 days clean again.

I got in touch with SA in the UK, and will attend my first 12 steps meeting in London. I have a question (if a Rav can give me a psak on this, or if someone can ask the question for me) - the meeting is in a Friends Meeting House (Quaker Meeting House). Is it ok for me to attend? I believe there is no altar or anything like that, but have never attended such a building before.

Anyway, I feel really positive about starting to go to the meetings, and hope that this will be a big source of chizuk to me.

Rav Shmuel Kaminetsky paskens that one can even join an SA meeting in a church building, just not in the main sanctuary (rather, in a side room).

Hi,

Well I had no idea that October was the last time that I posted. That must mean that I started going to SA meeting in October also.

I have been having some success in SA, but have also experienced a number of falls as well. I have only just started to know what SA is about, and I now have a sponsor as of last week. I am looking forward to meeting up with them.

I have realised over the last few months more and more that I am completely powerless to lust, internet p and acting out, and that I need Hashem to help me. Without the 12 steps I don't think there is another way.

Last week I attended the recovery day in London, and this was a very positive experience for me. I met several Yidden there, and made some additional contacts of people I can call when I need to. Currently I am on 12 days sober.

If there is anyone in London who needs information on SA, please contact me, or look at the UK SA website. There are a number of meetings in London, including one in Golders Green.
