The benefit to you would be if these "darkest" things cause you to be ashamed of yourself. If someone could in all honesty tell you... "oh, yes, sure, people who are exposed to porn often end up with such fantasies.. you're totally normal for ending up like that..." -- that can lift the burden of shame off you...
On the other hand, if they cannot handle it, that can make things worse for you...
(Just to clarify, this is just regarding shame - as opposed to guilt. Shame just burdens you down and makes you feel low of yourself. Guilt - knowing that what you did is "wrong" can be a good thing and a impetus to change)

Yes it's definitely benificial to share our 'dark parts' it is not only good, ultimately it's the only way to heal. When we don't share we have a feeling inside that tells us...., "if only people ever figure out about 'this and that' then I will not be able to be loved liked wanted etc. When we share and we see that we CAN still be liked, we always have  a path forward no matter what our 'dark side' is.

I myself have darks parts that took me a long time to face and look at myself in the mirror and say that I'm normal. I first told my theripist. Then I shared it privately. Then I shared it publicly. It's a possess. We can't just spew it to everyone. We have to find people we can trust are ready to hear the information from us, to be open and start the growing and healing process. 

That being said, I've had many conversations with a bunch of people about my own dark side (more abnormal parts of myself) and others have had many conversations with me about thier own sapposedly, 'terrible' dark sides. 

Feel free to share with me whenever you want. There will be no judgment no matter what. If you want to share my ears are open. Feel free to email me.
