Also, I hear the idea that a נשמה gets an עליה from קרוב davening for the amud. Maybe. Sometimes. 

BUT. There are times (and/or people) that they could give an even bigger עליה by having somebody else daven- and even have the נשמה in mind! I mean, why should the entire מנין suffer because a guy (he could even be a sweetie, btw) who has no vocal talents, has yahrtzeit???

Abbreviating porn and masturbation as p & m. I honestly think it just perpetuates the stigma attached to said stuff. 
They’re things. They’re bad things. They’re bad things that many people struggle with. It’s kinda (mostly?) coming out from under the rug, and if we can’t name the demons, it makes it that much harder to deal with them.

I don’t know who decided that his tapes (yes, I call them tapes. That’s how I grew up [fine, never really grew up. More like in my early years of life], and so it shall remain. But I digress) were “for children”, but that is complete and utter narishkeit. The more I listen to his stuff, the more I appreciate the sheer brilliance involved (putting aside the fact that he was a pioneer in the whole industry of storytelling and the like). His beautiful, simple compositions. Fantastic rhymes. Fascinating storylines. And of course, the voices and characters. Powerful messages. The list could go on and on.

And the part that ticks me off the most is that, a few weeks before the wedding, my Shvigger asked if I had any specific requests. 
I said “Yes, please make sure I get a kids meal for the main course”. 
She said “no need to plan that ahead of time, they’ll for sure have!”
