Regarding "nicknames" (Rule 6):
I didn't realize until yesterday just how serious an issue this could be for some. One GYE forum member confided in R. Guard and me that they "got really triggered" when a forum member of the opposite sex called them by a "nickname." So much so, that they needed to call a sponsor for assistance. So, it would seem that, even if the intent is just to be friendly, one has to tread carefully.
Of course, we should all use common sense. If someone's user name is "Chumash613," and you call them "Chumash," I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. After all, no one calls the administrator by his full user name ("Guardureyes"). Ditto for abbreviations (e.g. calling "I want to succeed" "IWTS"). But, beyond that, it would seem best to save any use of "nicknames" for forum members of the same sex.
(It's true that none of us are using our real names anyway. However, it would seem fair to say that our GYE username becomes our online "name," and variations thereof can be considered "nicknames").
