Funny you say that.  I sometimes forget how nervous I was when I first visited this site and then when i posted for the first time.  Now, I can't understand what the big deal is.

i saw an online ad on (i think) one of the secular israeli newspapers most probably Jerusalem post or Israel hayom
maybe it was on a charedi site but i am pretty sure i saw it on a secular site.

I think it was a small flyer for chizuk in shmiras einayim. It was in NJ.

Due to the fact that I was in denial about my issue at the time, thinking that I "had it under control" I signed up for the emails, but the addiction ones were too graphic for me. But once I started falling again and realized I needed "Major shmiras einayim" I went back on the site read some Q&A and the forum and eventually got involved.

Personally I think a major MAJOR way to spread GYE is through the "Shmiras Einayim" side of the website. Have rabonim and teachers and flyers put up for "Chizuk in shmiras einayim" and its almost like "what you dont need a chizuk in shmiras einayim?? everyone does in this world!" So alot of people would probably find out about (and visit) the site for that reason. And then PRIVATELY, once the person KNOWS about GYE they can make there way to the site.

Maybe Im biased because thats how I got here, but I personally believe that the shmiras einayim needs to really be pumped up like crazy. And once people hear about this site that its for chizuk in watching the eyes and they see it, then those that need more help can be at the right adress

I liked the pic. and it said guard ur eyes. i thought, wow, its summer and i have to do something with it. that how it all started.

I saw a mention to it in an article from Aish two full years before I acted on it. However, at the time I did send a copy of said article to myself so that when I was ready, I would have it. (Yeah, I see something, ignore it, but file it away for when I'm ready to listen. Sad, no?)

I read an article on aish.com and a lot of comments mentioned it.

It has been a while but I think that I actually found you while looking for an image of an eye. I was designing a internet browser add-in to remind myself not to look and I wanted a good image like of an eye watching. I did a Google search (don't remember the words I used) and found either the GYE logo or the picture of the tightrope walker which led me to your site.

I'm from NYS. I was referred by my therapist to visit this site. I then told him that I have read enough Mussar books and articles in my life and none of them got me out of this hell, what will a little more mussar and chizuk articles from a website do for me?!! He didn’t have an answer for me. But after a while I decided to visit the site anyway and I got caught… I came back to him and told him GYE is much more than just Musaar articles, I told him how powerful and efficient this site is with all the advice, chizuk groups and rest of the tools, he didn’t know that. The rest is history…

Read the article in mishpacha, thinking how silly that guy just falling into porn, my mistake online, then that sunday, i did the same thing, while looking for something online saw a trigger for p*** and went for it. Later I decided whoops, let give GYE a try.

i read the article in the mishpacha too... great story BTW. Whoever that story is about, if you see this post, please PM me. I would love to know how to deal with a wife who knows about my issue.
