"Hashem gave the Yetzer Horah the power to create illusions that resist the lessons of experience."

I also recommend the entire linked article by Dr. Benzion Sorotzkin.

What a wonderful yesod!

I spent many months trying to fight the yh as I was given the same power/ability as the yh. We can't fight the yh head on. Perhaps if it was strictly neshama/yetzar tov vs yetzar hara, good would prevail in a direct confrontation. But, the yetzar tov/neshama is limited by being in our physical bodies and in this physical world, while the yetzar hara thrives in this world and uses our physical bodies and the physical world as armaments and ammunition against the us.

Great find Kedusha! R' Dessler is one of my favorites!

Very good point about the Y"H having an advantage over the Yetzer HaTov.  Of course, as we work on being more spiritual, we can tip the balance, at least somewhat.
