I was zoche to have exchanged letters with Rav Miller zt"l. I just want to qualify his statement; he doesn't mean that love is a fraud - or even Romance. Many will need romance in shidduchim, and many cannot progress without it, nor should they. We find that Yitzchak loved Rivka after he married her. But we find that Michal Bas Shaul loved Dovid before marriage.
You can't run on romance alone. But after your brain is working and you've done your homework, then you can get carried away by romance, as long as your brain is working all along - towards a tachlis of marriage. this is the yesod of shidduchim today - v'kach kibalti mey Rabbosai.

thank you for the inspiring quote. it really helped me.

sadly, i feel for this trap. i was involved with someone for a non shiduch purpose. yes, it got ugly.

long story short, its over and we dont talk anymore. i cant stop thinking about all the lust i gave up on. i cant stop thinking about the past and all the bad things we did.

how do i cope with this? its been almost 3 weeks since we stopped talking.

please help
