Chevra, it's time to resurrect this old thread!
Yesterday, I had the unusual experience of assisting two blind people, each incident having nothing to do with the other. In the morning, as I was arriving at my office, a blind woman with a seeing eye dog asked me if she was at the correct building. I assured her that she was.
In the evening after Maariv, I gave a ride home to a blind man who gets around with a walker (in other words, he is not only unable to see, but has trouble walking). After I dropped him off at his apartment building, I saw that he was having major difficulty finding the front entrance, so I got out of the car and led him in the right direction.
Rabbosai, being able to see is a tremendous gift from the Ribbono Shel Olam. Indeed, it's an astounding miracle. Let's appreciate it, and use it only for good things going forward - one day at a time, of course!
For the past 15/20 minutes, I have been starin' at my screen in a kinda shock and perusin' some of Kedusha's old posts. I came to GYE when he was already several years' clean and several thousand posts. He was a man on a mission. He wrote short and to the point. He was a true advocate for shmiras einayim. From the first day back in 2009 when he installed a filter that didn't have a loophole. He was always postin' shiurim, links to articles, books, etc. that promoted kedushah. [L'havdil elef havdalos, I always wonder what would happen when I pass; would anyone even know? Would there be a eulogy here? I kinda hope not (unless they would delete all the compromisin' posts - which tally in the thousands).] He was a true gibbor and a stalwart of holiness.
Readers - please take some time and search out his old posts. I don't remember knowin' that he was sick. I probably picked a fight or two with him in my days and I have a sinkin' feelin' right now. Personally, I have a 'kedusha' oath (which I usually don't advocate for) thru the end of Yom Kippur; in his memory and zchus, I am extendin' it until the conclusion of Simchas Torah.
With tears flowin' - yehei zichro boruch!
Please post some of his better threads here if you have any in particular that come to mind
